Therapy that fits the life you're actually living

Claudia De Giorgi
Psychotherapist & Counsellor
PACFA Registered

Psychotherapist and counsellor in Balmain, Inner West Sydney. Individuals, couples and families, in person or online.

Therapy can feel like it comes with a rulebook: breathe deeply, meditate daily, journal every night. Most of the time that advice doesn't survive contact with a real week — the job, the kids, the thing you've never said out loud. So we start from what's actually available to you, not from what you're supposed to be capable of.

My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed. Much of the work is about the different sides of you that want different things, including the ones that seem to get in the way. Not problems to fix, but something to understand.

I have experience across mental health and advocacy services, crisis support, school counselling, corporate environments and organisational change, supporting individuals and families through crisis and complex life challenges.

My practice is informed by lived experience across cultures and countries, and reflects a culturally aware and inclusive approach to care.

I hold a Master of Psychotherapy and Counselling and am a registered member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).

People come to me with things like:

Anxiety and overwhelm — the constant low hum, or carrying more than you can hold

Depression and low mood — when the things that used to matter have gone flat

Trauma and complex trauma — something that happened once, or something that went on for years

Relationship difficulties — the same argument in different clothes, or a distance neither of you started

Grief and loss — including the kinds nobody else treats as grief

Life transitions and identity — a separation, a new baby, a career change, or not quite recognising yourself

Work stress and burnout — including organisational change you didn't choose

Abuse and violence — domestic, family or sexual, current or in the past

Young people and school — anxiety, friendships, refusing to go, or a child who's stopped talking about it
